Re: Price increases
I rather think the OP was being a tad sarcastic and was querying Volvo's wisdom in incurring all the admin/printing costs involved for such a trivial increase. That said, if it takes your chosen spec just over the £40k tax threshold it would be a bit less trivial.

Re: Which options / packs are a must?
As others have said, this is mainly about personal preferences. What is absolutely essential is to study the brochure/specifications with a forensic level of attention to detail and avoid any assumptions. This applies to any new car purchase from any manufacturer. A classic generic example would be ...

Re: PHEV Charging Flap Open Warning Message?
My 100% petrol T4 in common with every other car I've ever owned has no warning to tell me if I leave the fuel filler cover open when I drive off the forecourt. It's almost as though manufacturers expect drivers to exercise common sense and personal responsibility. Disgracefull!!

Re: XC40 EV Charging
I’ve currently got my sons Tesla plugged into a 13 amp socket in the garage via a 10amp extension reel (fully wound out) and it’s charging at 4.9kw with no issues. The cable is still cold to the touch. Even my wife is impressed so maybe I can get permission to look at a new car! 😂😂 4.9kw at a nomin...

Re: Key Box??
I purchased my own rather fine Faraday box in suede, thus I hope frustrating those villains who use signal amplifiers to steal keyless cars - apparently increasingly common! You did know that the Volvo car keys have acceleration sensors, that shuts them off when not in use, didn't you? The more rec...

Re: Flexible boot floor
The XC40 has been around a couple of years now so it may be worth searching the aftermarket suppliers for something similar at a significantly lower price. I have the folding floor as part of a pack but as there is a boot liner and dog crate on top of it most of the time I've never used it.

Re: No music, just a 'Ticking noise'
Don't forget it's a Swedish car so probably struggles a bit when it's much above 25 degrees. You'll have no problems in the Winter, no matter how severe.

Re: MPG - Again :-)
The D4 and T4 are some of the worst offenders in What Car's comparison of true mpg versus official figures. Unless you do a very high mileage it's a fairly unimportant statistic as depreciation is by far the biggest cost of car ownership from new/nearly new. So far, the XC40 seems good in that regar...

Have you got the ejector seat option on yours? Part of one of the crash safety packs I think.

Re: Cup holder size / recommendations?
You shouldn't drink and drive. You just end up spilling most of it which is a waste.VolvoDriver wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 11:06 pm Does anyone actually use cup holders to hold water bottles?
Does fit a couple of cans of Stella just right though.
