Re: Data Sim Card v Phone Tethering

So just tried it again (I always leave Bluetooth on) and about 5 mins later it reconnected to WiFi.

However it disconnected a minute later then reconnected. Ios12.1.1 for me. So learnt something new but a little flaky - but would give it a go if I didn’t have the sim.

Cheers

Re: Data Sim Card v Phone Tethering

But don't you lose wifi connectivity if you keep the hotspot on all the time? Doesn't appear to - when I'm out of the car & the ignition off, the phone reconnects to a known wifi network. We have two iPhones paired with the car this way & when in the car separately or together the internet connecti...

Re: Data Sim Card v Phone Tethering

I have the iPhone Personal Hotspot switched on permanently to share my data over Bluetooth with the car automatically whenever I get in. The setting stays active all the time. Also changed the Wi-Fi Password for HotSpot connections on the phone away from the default. But don't you lose wifi connect...

Re: Data Sim Card v Phone Tethering

I could tether my iPhone but know I’d need to set it up each time. Really - we never have any issues with reestablishing connections - both iPhone reconnect when we get into the car ??? I mean I’d have to set it up on my phone. I switch off the hotspot when not in use. Wouldn’t want it on all the t...

Re: Data Sim Card v Phone Tethering

None really. At most saving having to activate via your phone when getting in the car. If the phone automatically connects including tethering then nothing.

I personally have a data sim just for ease and convenience. I could tether my iPhone but know I’d need to set it up each time.

Re: High performance mode - display

No it doesn't change the dials, just the vehicle performance.

To change the dials etc you need to personalise the car setting. Go to settings, My Car, display (if I remember correctly). There's a few dial options in there

No idea what has happened but my seat/key settings have completely changed.
