Re: Brake groan

I totally agree with the above comment. My previous car was a 13 year old Subaru Legacy manual which I’d had from new. At over 90k miles I still got brake groan whilst edging very slowly down a sloping driveway from a relatives house to join the road at an almost blind exit. My current car with 17k ...

Re: Driver Displays Auto-Dimming

There’s a rotary adjuster on the bottom of the dashboard on opposite side of the steering wheel to the ignition button.
Simply adjust it to a brighter setting and the display won’t dim as much. It is possible to cancel out any dimming and just as easy to adjust the display for nighttime driving..

Re: 22-23 mpg for city traffic .. is it OK?

Hi. Unfortunately it’s normal for the car in stop start city traffic. Indeed I have seen under 20mpg in heavy traffic. No car is economical in such conditions. Constant use of low gears and pulling away from a standstill. On the other hand I have just completed a 350 mile motorway trip at an a avera...

Re: Delivered a week early with wrong wheels!

Looks good. I’ve got 19” wheels on my car through choice. I could have had 20” wheels as no cost option. I’ve now had the car for 16 months, done 15,000 miles mpg average 31.2 and absolutely no regrets re choice. Car drives very smoothly and 19” wheels absorb a lot of road imperfections and also are...

Re: Air-Con Question

Got in the car yesterday with an indicated 38c on the dash. Within a few miles on eco the internal temperature was down to the set 20c level and remained comfortable. It’s even more effective on comfort setting.
The car has a sunroof with the blind programmed to self close.

Re: BLIS with steer assist

The rear headrests fold manually by using the levers on the backrest. A small movement folds the headrest, a full movement folds the seat back.
Electric folding rear headrests do exist and are fitted in my car.

Re: Stop-start not working properly in auto hold

I find that sometimes the start/stop appears to have a mind of its own. It doesn’t work so well if the aircon or heating is working hard. If the battery charge reduces it also stops working until the battery has recharged. This can easily happen in queuing traffic. The system won’t work unless there...

Re: Cross Traffic Alert Live test.

Last year I was reversing out of an undercover space in the local supermarket car park. I was on the end of a row and despite hazard lights reversing lights and normal car lights this didn’t stop a woman driver totally ignoring me being half way out when she came flying round the corner with absolut...

Re: Volvo on call app

I’ve had this issue a couple of times when it appeared that the oncall server was down. I couldn’t get any real time information about the car. The app thought the car was miles away but was in fact parked on the driveway. The missing journeys did eventually get downloaded correctly.
