Re: Dpf regeneration?
Thanks. That’s my experience with my current 8 year old VW diesel with a dpf. Of course that is after the ‘fix’ was applied. Before the ‘fix’ it is likely that passive regenerations were taking place as I rarely noticed the fan running on switching off. Now post ‘fix’ hearing the fan running on swit...

Re: Dpf regeneration?
Looks like I’ll have to give up on this.
I’m surprised no one any idea how often their diesel dpf regenerates.
Perhaps that is an answer in itself.

Re: Dpf regeneration?
Has no one any thoughts on this? I’m in the15 thousand miles a year range, but sometimes can go for a month of short journeys. Short journeys increase the possibility of an interrupted regen and consequent oil dilution. I have run diesel cars for the last 20 years and only in the last two years have...

Re: Armrest Driving Me Nuts!
If it’s rubber just use a rubber lubricant. Something like that used to clean/shine black plastics. Had a squeaky door on a car, lubricating the rubber seal cured it. It lasted for quite a few years.

Re: Overactive fan/radiator
I have a diesel Yeti and since the emissions “fix” it actively regenerates when before the fix it mainly passively regenerated. I have never noticed a smell. I am told that the tickover is also raised, I have never noticed that either. What I do notice are the fans running when I swirtch off, which ...

Re: Overactive fan/radiator
As I said before, is the particulate filter regenerating? This will result in the engine running hot and the fan coming on. If it is regenerating then it’s not good to interrupt the process as the excess diesel pumped into the engine is not burnt and ends up washing down the bores and diluting the e...
