Re: My car is a turd.

I'm really sorry to hear you've got a lemon (or a turd  ) There have been a few on here with quality problems. To give a bit of balance, I got one of the first XC40's, a D4 First Edition, March 2018. Now over a year old, 17,000 miles and faultless. First service complete too. Compares very well...

Re: 3 month checkover....

Kirsty,
I suspect you'll use the same dealer I did for the 3 month check, Rybrook. They were hopeless. When I collected the car and asked about the software updates they said they would take too long so hadn't bothered! Mechanic jumped in the car in his overalls and no seat cover too. Very sloppy.

Re: Intellisafe Pro.. or not?

I can't recall what is in intellisafe pro, but if it includes Pilot Assist then this is more than ACC and Lane Assist, it maintains position between lanes as opposed to simply preventing you crossing them. In fact ACC and Lane assist are separate selectable modes to PA. I use it regularly and it wor...

Re: MPG - Again :-)

D4 FE 7700 miles and 47mpg average according to VOC which feels right, I tend to calculate consumption for most fills- I do mostly motorway runs at 75mph and I’m pretty easy on the right foot. I regularly get over 500 miles between top ups.

Re: Safety feature oddities

I’ve had the collision warning buzzer sound a couple of times when there is no imminent danger - but in each case I could see why the sensors thought there may be, for example on a bend and oncoming traffic comes on to my side to pass stationary traffic. Nothing to worry about - just a little sensit...

Re: Headlights

No rubber flag from my dealer, but I’m not surprised as I haven’t chased them relentlessly which seems to be the way - however the absence of AST was a reasonable disappointment for me for which we agreed a 5 year service package as a gesture. Eventually registered and certificate sent after customa...

Re: What's the widget in the key presentation box?

Survives a hot wash 50deg and 1600 rpm spin too. That’s what happens when you don’t use it often and don’t have other keys attached !

Re: My T5 FE ex demo.

interesting the different approach to pricing by different dealers. I think you got a good deal.

I’m still astonished by the big discounts that were around on early orders, sweetened even further by 0% on 50/50. Boy did they get that wrong.

Re: Polestar

In planning for a possible Polestar upgrade, I contacted my insurance company today. They quoted zero change to the premium but would charge an admin fee. Fair enough I thought. What are you hoping for from the upgrade? Serious question, I’m a bit sceptical of getting performance gains for no other...
