Re: Driving in France

No converters needed for LED lights. No need anymore to carry the DIY breathalyser. But DO carry enough hi-viz for all passengers, and have them accessible INSIDE the cabin, not in the boot. Warning triangle you have by default.

Re: Alarm going off

Critical charging faultvcould be damaged battery or duff alternator. My money’s on the battery needing replacing.

Cevoli21 wrote: Tue Apr 23, 2024 10:16 am Sounds like it might be a 12V battery issue. Lots of modern cars are susceptible to multiple errors and warnings if the 12v goes even slightly dodgy.
Agreed, thats the king of thing a 12V battery failure will lead to.

Re: Automatic parking brake

At least the Volvo implementation allows you to open the door to check your position without banging on the parking brake. And using auto-hold all the time is fine - in modern manuals it’s pretty much a necessity, which is one reason I went back to an auto, as I don’t like using it more than absolut...

Re: Automatic parking brake

You can easily tell if it's being applied - there's a red symbol that appears in the top line of the dash display. From the manual (just search for parking brake..) It's MUCH quieter than any Audi I've driven. The Parking brake is activated automatically When gear position P is selected on a steep h...

ST = Stereo in this case.

Re: ceramic coating

Thread necromancy. I’ve had my last 3 cars ceramic coated. In 2014 my A4 cost £500, used GTechniq, and was very good, I washed and topped up using the sam3 products. Lasted for the 7 years I had the car. Then I had my Cupra done in Labotechnic or somesuch, not impressed. And finally a CX-30, again G...

Re: What have you just found out about your XC40.

That something, I know not what, causes the auto high beam to turn off. (AAOS). I know the usual flash doesn’t do it. Two mornings in the last 2 months they’ve been off. Odd.

Re: AAOS incorrect MPG / AVG Speed in App

I’d rather they found a fix for the random misfires when accelerating hard from low speeds.
