Re: EV Road Tax
Its not EV bashing, at least for me its not, I for one love to drive EV's when I can mainly because the power delivery and quietness is very likable. Its only fair that they are now to be taxed, and you agree (mooted point accepted). As for ownership, unfortunately for many folk their are still too...

Re: EV Road Tax
I started this thread for people with an EV to save a few quid on road tax, not the intention of an EV bashing. I don’t have any issue whatsoever with EV drivers having to pay road tax, we use them, so we should pay. As for the comment about them being heavier thus eroding road surface quicker, that...

Re: EV Road Tax
BEVs are even a less attractive option now. I'm waiting for the tax on charging them to be introduced, only a matter of time. If you buy new… not a chance, but I did not buy new ( 6 months old with 450 miles) hence the depreciation does not concern me, now or in the future . End of the day, it’s a ...

Re: EV Road Tax
Even if they were to tax charging it would still work out much cheaper to fuel, than an Ice. Currently I’m saving about £700 a year compared to what I was paying when I had my T4. Fuel prices also subject to price volatility, and this government will look at anything to recoup taxes, including fuel ...

EV Road Tax
If you have an EV and want to avoid the £195 road tax fund when introduced, tax it now before 1st April, regardless of whether it is due or not. By doing so now, it will be taxed from 1st March 2025 for 12 months for £0.00.I would have had to pay £195 when mine was due July 1st, instead I get an ext...

Re: Jump Start Pack
Question - just to get back on the subject "Jump Start Pack" If you have a flat battery and your Jump Start Pack is in the boot How would you get to the Jump Start Pack ? The doors are locked, dead locking is engaged and what about the alarm ? I don’t have the answer I’m afraid, but a goo...

Re: New to XC40'S
Agree with Chris. If you can find one that suits your needs and costs are agreeable to yourself, I would go for a T4. Don’t worry about flappy paddles, I had one for over 4 years, and never once used them.

Re: 12v Charging Issue
I don’t think 12v battery issues are just particular to Volvo. When I was looking at changing, I did look at a Lexus 350h, and whilst doing my‘ homework’ I recall on Lexus forums there were several threads about the 12v battery and related issues. Hope you get sorted soon, and it is a simple fix.
