Re: New software update 3.0.3

Installed this morning. Took around 30 minutes at most. So far can’t identify any differences. Maybe something will show after a bit more use.

Re: Volvo Car Insurance

Ours is now via Wrisk. Volvo are still paying the premium until next February. They are paying £37 per month and i top it up by around a fiver for protected NCB and zero excess. So far all has gone well. However for our daughter's B3 parked on the street in a higher risk area they are totally uncomp...

Re: Alarm going off

Hopefully all will be well. Ours (full electric) had a similar thing when a few weeks old. 12v battery was down to <2v. Spent 3 days at the dealer being checked over. Nothing untoward found. Diagnosed as "probably software problem". It's now been fine for 2 years with no repetition. Our so...

Re: Anyone used a non-OEM spare wheel?

I really dont understand why other vehicle manufacturers dont offer a collapsable spare wheel like Porsche do (and have for 30 + years) - brilliant bit of engineering Our SLK has a collapsible spare. The only problem being that if you have to use it the original wheel from the car won't fit in the ...

Re: Alarm going off

Sounds like it might be a 12V battery issue. Lots of modern cars are susceptible to multiple errors and warnings if the 12v goes even slightly dodgy.

Re: Bristol port delay

So daughter finally collected her car today. Almost 4 weeks after arriving at the dealer. Volvo sent the documents electronically in a file that could not be opened. Volvo couldn’t open it either so they then sent paper copies which were duly signed and returned as requested. Then radio silence. Ph...

Re: Driving in France

I would just carry a bulb kit. Easily available from Halfords. I have only once been stopped in France for a random check after a toll booth. I was driving a 25 year old car which may be why I was targeted. They were polite and thorough. Checked paperwork, lights, tyres etc. did not check for spare ...

Re: Volvo Skid Plate Kit fitting

Are you purchasing a new kit from Volvo or a secondhand one? The price of the new kit includes fitting.

Re: Road speed signs display

Completely agree. Speed limit signs are hopeless. However it's not just Volvo. Our sons Ioniq 5 makes has the same errors as the Volvo. It appears it's not just the camera getting confused but also the underlying database. Doesn't bode well for full autonomous driving.
