Re: Care by Volvo - How do you afford it??!

If you'd love to know who can afford then that would be me. However I wouldn't personally go down that route - I prefer the cash option. I retired early a few years ago in my mid 50s, and £750/month is small beer compared to my monthly pension income. That, combined with no mortgage, just bills, wo...

Re: Depreciation? What depreciation?

An update,if anyone is interested. Today I sold my RDesign T4 AWD to webuyanycar for the sum of £32,850, a slight markdown on the initial quote of 33k due to a couple of chips and a bit of extra mileage since the quote. Very pleased, more than I paid for it new in September 2019. Now, what shall I b...

Re: Depreciation? What depreciation?

WBAC base their valuations of real time knowledge of what the cars are actually selling for So WBAC is the same company as BSA motor auctions and Cinch (the only car sales thing) so they have tons of data and shift hundreds of cars a day. They know better than most exactly what people are searching...

Re: Depreciation? What depreciation?

September 2020 70 plate Inscription Pro with quite a few extras. 9,000 miles on the clock. We Buy Any Car offered £30,600. It's certainly not consistent. My RDesign, absolutely no extras, same 9,000 mileage but a year older has a 31,700 price offered. Perhaps it the engine, mines an AWD T4 . I'm ev...

Re: Depreciation? What depreciation?

But what you'll buy instead? It is always a problem of choice afterwards. As well as this semiconductors issue that affects every other car maker. I think I'm more of a manual gearbox, small/mid size car type of guy, and my wife certainly is 🙂 ( not the guy part 🙂). So to quote Del Boy the world is...

Re: Depreciation? What depreciation?

Bought my Thunder Grey T4 AWD in September 2019, incl first year's tax etc and a 5 yr service plan for about £32,000 cash. So minus the road tax and service plan about £31,000. Had getting on for two years use with mixed feelings. Some aspects of the Volvo I just haven't liked compared with my prev...
