Re: Confused new owner!

Thanks Spider62 - good spot on the leaf spring issue (didn't think anyone used leafsprings anymore!). This one looks like it would be suitable then https://www.rtecshop.co.uk/eibach-pro-kit-lowering-springs-for-volvo-xc40-536-10-17/prod_912618.html cheaper than the Heico ones too, so I may take a pu...

Re: Confused new owner!

RDPRO21 I know exactly what you mean. I have the same motion on my T3 Momentum running on 18" wheels. On a good smooth road the ride is great, but any disturbance in the surface seems to setup a front/rear rocking motion that is a bit offputting. It improved slightly when I added a spare wheel ...

Re: Ambient lighting project for Momentum

Hi mss911 - Thanks, yes, I think there were 3 or 4. I think there was a 12v live, an earth and the live that varied voltage from the ambient light dimmer feed. It took a bit of probing with the meter to find which one dimmed! There was one other there that just gave a constant 5v or so, which I gues...

Re: Rear light cluster fixing points

Hi M@rk - Yes I was aware of that, but have read a few items on another volvo forum where people have had volvos stolen and the factory tracker was disabled by the thief easily removing the fuse. A belt & braces approach made me feel happier!

Re: Rear light cluster fixing points

Hi Trev.K - sounds like a fun project! I think that when I fitted my tracker that the wires you need are under the right (or left) hand boot cover. Its a bit of a pig to get this off, but if you do it methodically its very manageable - just seems a lot to remove! If you follow the instructions here:...

Ambient lighting project for Momentum

The rear of my Momentum is a bit of a black hole at night, so finished a project to add some LED's in the rear door cards, rear central console, and front console under the USB socket. Fairly straight forward. If you want to copy here's what I did: LED's (white for rear & blue for front console ...

Re: Spare wheel

I didn't get the spare wheel with my car (dealer ex demonstrator), so bought the spare wheel kit from ebay. Fits fine, but it is heavy and you do lose useful boot space. My current thinking is I will only fit it for longer journeys when the insurance of a proper spare would be useful, and just carry...

Re: Where are the badges gone?

Another vote for gapinsurance.co.uk great bunch of guys to deal with. When I traded in my XC60 and bought my XC40 I called them and was suprised to discover that they could refund £70 from my old policy, and then gave me a loyalty discount on the new policy. All told it came in at just over £80 for ...

Speed Camera Alerts

Anyone know if it is possible to set an audible tone for speed camera alerts on the XC40? My old XC60 had an option to do this within the speedcamera POI settings, but the new XC40 seems to lack this, unless I am being stupid and have missed something? I'm not a boy racer by any stretch of the imagi...
