Re: Tyres

Mine came with Continental EcoContact 6. Currently at 8400 miles and the front tyres are down to just under 3mm. I'm not overly enthusiastic with the accelerator, nor do I corner particularly hard. I'm quite surprised how fast they seem to be wearing down.

Re: Fuel economy problems

We're back to the fuel system misbehaving again. Have been getting around 400 miles to a tank the past few full fills, but now the readout doesn't change for 60-70 miles then reports that I've used anything between 1/3rd and 1/2 a tank. Go the pump and fill until it cuts off and it's taking less tha...

Re: What have you just found out about your XC40.

That using the scroll wheel to control the lights has a tiny amount of haptic / audio feedback. It's so quiet that you can't hear it when you're moving.

Re: Comfort and Model Advice

I've got the Inscription Pro, use it to ferry around a passenger with a poorly healed broken back, they do fine with it. I kept the standard 19" wheels and while some complain about it in bends I've not yet found one where the body movement is an issue. Everything else is as you want, assuming ...

Re: Headlights

IIRC the adaptive shadow was offered as part of a saf3ety package when I ordered mine. Went with the 'standard' bending ones. As jamie307 said, XC40 doesn’t offer adaptive shadow headlight technology. I was also confused about this at the time of my order since the XC40 online car configurator was ...

Re: Fuel economy problems

Agreed. My MTG stated 50 and I reset the trip cpunter just to see. Got 80 miles before I chickened out.

Re: Unwanted Park In/Park Out prompts

Mine kicks in quite frequently when I'm in slow moving traffic, and whenever I'm on a narrow road with a slope to the passenger side. Every time I've actually tried to use it I'm told it's unavailable, so I don't bother now.

Re: sensus navigation error?

I live close to the A40 and most trips start there for me. Sassy (the name I gave the satnav) always attempts to guide me on a 5 mile detour to join the A40, and sometimes tries to steer me on a 12 mile route to bypass the on-ramp that's a mile from where I live.

Re: Fuel economy problems

Run a car dry - really? I would not do that - just fill the tank when you normally would and clock the mileage - when you next fill again, clock the mileage and amount of fuel to fill - do this several times and then do the calc's. Dry = as close to empty as I want to risk taking it. I'm normally a...
