Sybil Fawlty:
And you're going to wear that jacket, are you?

Basil Fawlty:
You wouldn't understand, dear. It's called style.

Re: Recommendation for OBD2

If I didn't trust organisations and companies to do what they say they are doing I'm afraid my anxiety levels would be sky high.

I'm happy to take my car in for a service and trust they do what they do.

As long as they stamp the service book, ready for resale time...

Re: In car HiFi

I understand the concept, just hadn't realised someone provides a service selling plastic spatulas.

I've always used similar but homemade - fingers, plastic kitchen utensils, wood pieces etc.

Re: MY21 only 1 main key confirmed

I can't see BBC Watchdog interested in some poor unfortunate Volvo owners having spent £40k, now having to spend an additional £75.

Not exactly riveting TV 😀.

Re: MY21 only 1 main key confirmed

So the latest on my complaint, response from the dealer: "On further investigation, it appears the orange Care Key is not programmable. This is how all new cars will now be supplied with one programmable key and one Care Key. To recognise and respond to customers concerns, Volvo have reduced t...

Re: External Trim Fault? - Check yours now!

Spotted this issue with the piano black 'B-Post' covers/trim om my 2019 R-Design XC40, as I was cleaning the car. Out of the 4 covers (2-rear of front doors and 2-front of rear doors) 3 have been affected, no idea why, but it looks, to me, like a 'stress' issue in the gloss surface coating? The dea...

Re: New 'Almost' member

As well as reading the manual I always advise new owners to get a Brotect matte screen protector off ebay or Amazon. It cuts down on fingerprints and glare no end and is dead easy to fit. I also bought the same screen protector, not for protection as such, but for the anti glare. Was real easy to i...

Re: What have you just found out about your XC40.

My VW Golf had the same key fob functionality. I had the Golf for 9 years.

I sold it on with the same battery in the key fob as I received when I originally bought the car.

The 9 year old battery was still working just fine.

Re: What have you just found out about your XC40.

My partner always gets out of the passenger door before I've had the chance to shut my driver's door window. Her opening the door cuts the power to the windows and my window ends up half-open. I always used to have to switch the ignition back on to finish closing the window. Now I know this I just g...
