Re: Auto Stop/start with Auto Hold activated
My XC40 still does this and it has had several software upgrades since I first reported the problem, first to the dealer and then to Volvo UK customer service. And every other XC40 I have driven in the past 12 months (there have been a lot of courtesy cars!) has had the same problem. I think it must...

Re: Text message to modem sim?
I recently installed the Vodafone 24 month sim. To register it, as you correctly point out, Vodafone need to send a code to the sim card’s telephone number via text message. If you have installed the sim card in the XC40, then the text message with the code should appear on the centre screen - well ...

Re: No internet
I had a similar problem. I bought a Vodafone data only sim (24GB for 2 years for £45). I removed the Vodafone sim which came with the car and put in the new sim – but no globe and no internet. To get it to work I had to make a change to the settings. I went to to: Settings > Communication > Car mode...

Re: Cost of second maintenance of XC40
On the Volvo website you can see costs for service at all the Volvo dealers in the UK and details of what is included in the service https://www.volvocars.com/uk/own/maintenance/service-and-maintenance and click on “Book a Service Online” Random sampling of a few dealers on the website shows the cos...

Re: Rear fog lights 1, 2 or blown bulb
If you remove the nearside bulb holder (easy to do), you should find that the "bulb" is actually a blank. There is one rear fog light on the offside.

Tyre rotation
From the XC40 manual To avoid differences in tread depth and to prevent wear patterns forming on the tyres, the front and rear wheels should be switched with each other. A suitable distance for the first change is approx. 5000 km (approx. 3100 miles) and then at 10000 km (approx. 6200 miles) interva...

Re: Replacement tyres / puncture repair.
Is that a good idea? I thought tyres always had to be replaced in pairs with the new tyres both on the same axle. One new Michelin and 3 part worn Continentals?

Re: Auto Stop/start with Auto Hold activated
Now here is an interesting observation. I was out in the XC40 earlier today and the Auto Stop/start was working exactly as it should. I had Auto Hold activated and it was auto-starting when I depressed the accelerator pedal. Weird, I thought. Has the problem cured itself? Later though the problem re...

Re: Auto Stop/start with Auto Hold activated
Thanks for your comments and for the link to the earlier set of posts. Looks like this is a known issue which others have experienced and which was fixed for some with a software update. I have had what I think is the latest software update but I will be going back to the dealer armed with this addi...
