Cleaning & Maintenance of Black Trim

I've had my Fusion Red PHEV since June 2020 and covered around 4200 miles. The car was given the Supagard Treatment at the dealer before I took delivery. The black trim around the wheels and lower parts on the doors and rear bumper seem to be very difficult to keep clean and looking "black"...

Re: Poll: Lead times ( from order till delivery)

I ordered my R Design Pro PHEV on 30th November 2019 with a (pre-pandemic) delivery estimate of April 2020. In the event I collected the car on 23rd June 2020 once the dealers had reopened. My car has twin exhausts with chrome trim which I think Volvo had changed on production cars by that time whic...

Downloading apps to Sensus

Hi All I don't have any apps (e.g. spotify) downloaded to my XC40 PHEV and am struggling to understand what the steps are to do so. Can anyone advise how the wifi needs to be configured (car sim or via mobile phone - I use Apply CarPlay)? The manual seems a little vague to me and of course the deale...

Re: Polestar 2 Anyone ?

I drove one of the non performance models last week and it is fantastic with excellent build quality. I've watched a lot of YouTube video reviews of the car and most agree the range is less than Polestar claim especially in the colder climates. There's no doubt Elon's cars have the advantage with ra...

Unable to set a Charging Period for XC40 PHEV via the VOC app

I have an XC40 PHEV for which I also have a Pod Point home charger. I was sure a charge timer could be set up via the VOC app but lately that feature seems to have disappeared from the app (Fuel Range > Saved Locations > Home > Set Charging Time). I queried this with the VOC help line and I've been ...

Re: Volvo on call app freezes

I have a similar issue for my XC40 PHEV app on an iPhone 6S. I have to open another app then go back to VOC and try again. Then it works fine.

Re: PHEV charging away from home

I've checked with my dealer (Tollbar Warwick) and been told to use only chargers delivering 11Kwh or less. That's the first time I've been given that information which severely reduces the number of chargers that can be used on the networks. Happily I charged at a PodPoint (7Kwh) yesterday without i...

Re: T5 Braking - Whats that all about then?

I've had the same thing happen to me too. I think when braking you have to consider the additional weight of the car because of the battery (equal to about 3 teenagers) and anticipate where possible. It's still caught me out once or twice though.

PHEV charging away from home

This week I tried to charge my seven week old car for the first time away from home at Evesham Country Park. The charging unit (Polar+) said it was in service and available. I followed the on screen instructions and connected the Type 2 connector to the car. The charge failed to initiate (charger wa...

New to Volvo

I'm a new Volvo driver having driven Fords for over 40 years. This is also my first PHEV so a few new experiences, procedures and ways of driving to get used to. By far the best car I've ever owned though and I'm so looking forward to spending more time in the car as the lockdown eases.
