Had the same problem after one year but it was covered under warranty. Looks like a faulty design in the plastic piece not being adequately reinforced where the screws attach. Not sure if the replacement part will do the same in a year or so, or if it has been strengthened somehow.

Just finished an 1150km trip with combined city and highway driving with a split of roughly 70% highway and 30% city driving. Overall mileage came to 8.4L/100 or 33.6mpg UK or 28.0mpg US. Quite happy with the end result as pure highway mileage was below 8.0L/100.
