Good news: During my first post-Covid time road trip, start/stop re-engaged and seems to be working just fine. Outage lasted for about 15 months, thanks to the pandemic!! (subscriber from USA)

No options on any menus for "red key" on my 2019 XC40. I assume that Volvo has discontinued those options.

As of 21 May 2021 start/stop still not working. Last system update was in May 2020. Note: I am in USA, so not sure if there was a more recent update.

stop/start on my 2019 XC40 T5 has not worked in over a year... of course COVID cut driving way down. But now I am driving more again and still does not function. Dealer has offered no assistance; say battery is charged!! (member from USA)

Thanks from the USA owner for all the information. I will just have to wait for a longer trip to see if stop/start re-engages. Looks to me as if the system with the small battery may not be the best design. Too many folks having the same problem.

My stop/start worked for about 1 year (2019 XC 40). It ceased working in March, beginning of Covid. Has worked only rarely since then. Maybe bttery issue, but will report it again to dealer. Had the software update last January.

USA here. I have rear view camera as well as parking sensors. All are very helpful; no problems reversing at all.
