Re: T5 Recharge charging time
Volvo are actively involved in the development of hydrogen fuel technology, as are BMW and indeed most other major manufacturers. Honda have been ahead of the game for quite some time and will more than likely be the first major marque to release a hydrogen fuelled vehicle onto the mass market.

Yes, supagard bionic applied by specialist detailers at supplying dealer. Has lasted very well , got a hefty discount off the advertised price, if you don’t ask….!! If having applied to a used car seek out an independent valeter, they’ll be much more competitive than a stealer.

Re: Faulty Fuel Injector - B3 2023
I feel it's important to clarify the 10 year warranty statement that has often been mentioned on this forum, this is taken from the Toyota website: Up to 10 years / 100,000 mile Toyota warranty* Every new Toyota comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty followed by a 12 months / 10,000 miles additio...

Re: Paintwork protection
Had supagard bionic applied by supplying Volvo dealer when new, they didn't mention that there were likely to be any problems nor that the warranty would be affected. Not had any problems and almost 4 years on its doing is job. People will tell you it's not worth it and you can buy the stuff from......

Re: Poor Headlights. led
The Pixel LED's do not perform as well on dipped beam as the standard reflector LED headlights according to the technical measurement data quoted by the IIHS test. Marginally better on high beam . The perception of one individual against that of another is likely to differ greatly due to a number of...

Re: Rattles, squeaks and other niggles
no rattles or squeaks on mine after almost 4 years. Sometimes the interface where the central screen trim and the screen heating / volume controls are located can make a noise but this is very intermittent and seems to be temperature dependant ( higher temp= more likely). There are easy fixes for th...

Re: Is This a Good Way to Buy a Volvo
When we were looking to order a brand new XC40 in March 2020 we looked at a few dealerships in the area prior to this at used cars ( Riverside Doncaster and Wakefield and Ray Chapman in York) We enquired about new orders at Riverside Doncaster and Stoneacre Sheffield (the nearest one to us). Stoneac...

Re: Gearbox Fault
Isn't TG-81SC the code that Volvo give to the Aisin automatic transmission used on a number of other vehicles. Not aware that a specific AWD variant exists? TG-81SC for FWD and AWF8G30 for AWD. The specification for the XC40 at launch lists the TG-81SC transmission is used in both T5 and D4 AWD veh...

Re: Gearbox Fault
There are considerable differences and too many to list i.e. size, shape, location, all the internals - you would need to see pics and watch vids to see the vast difference. You also get a sense that the AWD one is more robust and the better box. Good to hear it may be a software glitch. As you wer...

Can't imagine the diesel's will be around too much longer, especially when/if the XC60 is updated or replaced like the EX90 & EX30 Mine was one of the last XC40 diesel registered mid 2020 - when I sold it back to the dealership I bought it new from, he said he’d not seen / had any 20 plate dies...
