Re: Rattles, squeaks and other niggles
No rattles or squeaks in our 202 T4, other than the occasional one as Metroman describes above. Usually a finger inserted into the gap momentarily is enough to quieten it. Ours was a late Belgian built car. Hate to say it but owners of the Chinese built ones seem to suffer from far more problems and...

Re: Volvo App
The VOC plan does not renew with a dealer service, only the breakdown & recovery services renew for free with each service. VOC is free for first 3yrs from new, then renews for a fee every 2 years. That’s how it’s worked for me anyway… Rifleman, yes it does, but you have to ask them to do it. A...

Re: Three days old!!
Good that things have started to happen but if it isn't fixed to your satisfaction, or there's any further problems, I'd seriously consider rejecting the car under the CPA. Your case is much stronger within the first 30 days. Just for balance, we have a MY20 T4 Inscription (Belgian built) which will...

Re: Start in different mode
No, it always defaults to Comfort mode.
Annoying, but I now find it second nature to press the mode button twice after start up to select my chosen Individual mode.

Re: MY23 change order cancel & are upgraded size alloys worth it?
Agree with jamie307, maybe apart from the wind noise! Before buying, we tested two new XC40s. First was an R Design Pro with 20" wheels, the other was an Inscription with 18" wheels. The 20" wheels and lower profile tyres created quite a din on dual carriageways and also tramlined wit...

Re: Anyone else think the reversing light is not bright enough.
So, just joined this conversation (rejoined). As previously stated, the primary function of a reversing light is to show the intent to reverse. Lighting up the path behind is not in its remit. I don't disagree, but it's a bonus if they do. Fortunately I've had that bonus on all my cars except for t...

Re: Anyone else think the reversing light is not bright enough.
Tbh I have never thought of reversing light as nothing more than a indication of intention, how one light will help you navigate is beyond me especially when most cars have only one Really? All three of my current cars have twin reversing lights and I can't remember my last car that only had one. A...

Re: Servicing - optional extras
Absolutely.
Our XC40 is on a Motabilty lease and the first service consisted of an oil and filter change plus a new cabin filter.
No option to upgrade even if we wanted to.
This is dealers taking advantage of profit improvement.

Re: Cabin temperature default settings
It sounds like the car is defaulting to a Profile setting attached to the key you are using.
Go into Settings, Driver Profile and either untick the ticked profile, or re-set the profile to your preferences.

Re: Blind spots.
Donmac, you're probably over thinking it. Yes the all round vision in the XC40 isn't the greatest, but I haven't found it a problem. We have all round sensors and a reverse camera, but we didn't go for BLIS or 360 camera. On motorways and dual carriageways, I find the large door mirrors absolutely f...
