Re: Another Recall Letter

The Gov recall website lists 2 recalls for the MY20 XC40. The first is for the braking system software issue and the second is for a missing nut (there should be two) which secures the brake booster to the firewall. This only affected 224 cars however so very few owners would receive that letter. Yo...

Re: New Member From Adelaide

G'day! I'm sure you will enjoy the car once you pick it up. Personally I think the service package represents good value and are worth going for, you may even be able to negotiate a reduction as part of the deal. The protection package I am not convinced by , there are previous threads on the forum ...

Re: The 2.0 engine - is it unrefined?

In my opinion in the vast majority of driving conditions it is quiet and refined, comparing very well with V6 cars I have owned in the past.As others have said though once you get into the higher rev range a certain harshness does develop. Not surprising really given it is only a 4 pot 2 litre that i...

Re: Does anyone regret buying an XC40?

From what I can tell there are just under 15,000 XC40's now registered in the UK. The forum membership is 1561 so represents an owner sample size of a little over 10%- very much the minority. As other people have said there will by definition always be a greater number of negative comments on forums...

Re: Red key function and use

The red key is useful if you want to let another driver use your car, particularly perhaps a younger person. To set up go to settings-systems-driver profile-red keys. You can adjust max speed limit, speed limit warning, speaker volume and adaptive cruise time gap. When a red key is used there are also...

Re: Service - 3 month check.

Yes the dealer will do a 3 month check for you but only on customer request, it is not offered automatically. Good opportunity to get any early problems sorted, but let them know of any issues in advance as I think they normally only allow about 30 mins for the check.

Re: What accessories have you found for your XC40?

The screen protector works very well indeed, never a fingerprint in sight. The mudflaps are subjective I guess.I started without them but living in a rural area soon put a set on after a few weeks and they do stop a lot of the muck cascading down the sides and the area underneath the tailgate Only o...
