Re: Interior lighting

For me, this has to be one of the most annoying things about the XC40. I got the Momentum Pro, mainly because I wanted the fusion red colour, which is not available in the inscription trim. With a significant discount, I got the car for roughly EUR 43k with almost every option - catalogue price arou...

Re: T3 or T4

For those who have tried both, how does refinement compare at motorway speeds? Is the T3 quieter when cruising? Cruising on the highway both are very quiet, at least to me. Perhaps the T3 being ever so slightly quieter. Keep in mind, however, that since the T3 is less powerful, it will kick down to...

Re: T3 or T4

I ordered my XC40 in June and for about 3 weeks after that I couldn’t decide whether to stay with my initial choice - a T3 engine, or change to a T4. I ended up having 3 test drives with a T3 engine (the only available car for a test drive) until I finally found a T4 and took it for a drive. Below i...

Re: Fuel reserve

Yep, I can second that - every time I get the message about low fuel I have about 7–8 litres left which is quite close to empty if you are on a longer trip. My previous V40 always had at least 10 litres left - but the fuel capacity was 62 litres compared to the 54 litres of the XC40. Actually the sm...

Re: New XC40 - should I be taking it easy first 10k miles?

Thanks for the all the advice, I was indeed quite careful the first 1000 miles, still feel a bit guilty for flooring it yesterday though  I guess I am still used to my manual V40, where flooring it didn’t lead to anything special.

New XC40 - should I be taking it easy first 10k miles?

Title says it all  - got my XC40 three weeks ago and have almost 2k miles on the clock. However, I am very careful not to push the car too hard, as I remember that old saying that I should be taking it easy first 10k miles. Today I had to merge into the fast lane of the highway and for the ...

Re: Ordered! Hybrid Inscription Pro, but stuck on colour?!?!

Completely understand your frustration with the colours - considering the great design of the XC40 and Volvo's marketing, I am quite surprised they have so few options. The fact that some the colours (such as fusion red) are not even available for Inscription is actually what made me order a Momentu...

Re: Build Date

Highly unlikely that the car has already been built - in my experience, when I was ordering my V40 two years ago, it was built three weeks ahead of delivery. Of course that may vary, especially considering that the car needs some time to get to your dealership in the UK. You should still be able to ...
