Re: New XC40 first drive impressions

Had to smile, blaming the car for getting a speeding ticket!! Glad i made you smile, but maybe if you take your head out of your a*** and consider that the whole point of the speed cameras is to discourage speeding, not to raise money - then shouldn't the car do the same? And yeah, 35 in a 30 is ha...

Re: New XC40 first drive impressions

I always found the Sensus speed camera warning annoying, because of 2 reasons: - it didn't have an independent volume slider, meaning if i am in the car talking to someone and music is set to min, i won't hear it. That's how i got my 1st ticket! - the sound, low as it was, was always present around ...

Re: App Controlled Cabin Heating

Cabin heat comes from the engine coolant. 10 (or even 15!) minutes at idle revs won't warm the engine enough to pass a sizeable amount of heat to the cabin. Biggest help this remote start offers is defrosting windshield and read screen, as well as partially defrosting the front side windows so you c...

Re: Confused about engine and transmission options

D3 and D4 have the same 2.0 l 4 cylinder diesel engine but with different output, 150 hp for D3 and 190 hp for D4. Only D3 is available with manual gearbox. That's helpful, thanks. So I guess it's a question of whether I'm happy to compromise on hp in favour of manual and go for the T3 1.5litre pet...

Re: Front passenger seat heating U/S

I've had my driver's seat pad changed under warrany as it stopped working. In my case it occassionaly gave a faint smell of burned, or hot air, after a few minutes on max.
It's sadly not a quick job so be ready to leave the car in there for a day

Re: 2023 model XC40 MHEV Core more teething troubles

Lol these things are a joke. Last i read the XC90 was around top in one of these lists, and the most common fault was locks breaking on a 15+ year car.
I mean if my XC40 runs smoothly after 15 years, i'll happily change the damn lock mechanism / keyless system etc.

Re: 19 or 20’ wheels? Has the sunroof improved or is it still giving people issues?

I haven't checked current specs so i might be talking out of my a***. But on previous ones 20" came on RD only which also had the sport suspension. A lot firmer, and a lot better in fast turns. Which i tend to make quite a lot of. I have drove-tested a normal suspension one on 18" and exce...

Re: OEM bars and sunroof - a question

I guess i'll have to try it. Mainly city driving so i doubt it would affect fuel consumption that much.
And realistically, i bought a 2 tonne car, i can't say i'm happy with 20-22MPG but how much worse can it really get in standstill traffic lol.
