Re: Low Coolant Level

Yeah, I was a big VWG fan and owned quite a few over the years, well still own a couple, but as you say a decent specification soon starts to get very expensive, even for the Skoda offerings. Even my wife's Skoda Fabia was £31k. list (she'd been spoiled by the Volvos :D) as it was well loaded - not ...

Re: Safety systems - Reduced Functionality when temp >5c

I've driven my car many times below that temperature and down to minus 3 and haven't had any of those messages. Car is kept outside and sometimes covered in ice and I've not yet used the remote start so the car is very cold from the off.

Good to hear that they are taking your experience seriously and investigating it in detail.

Re: Door mirrors frozen closed

Thanks for reminding me about the silicone lubricant - I've got some in the garage I used on my Audi TTs rubbers for the soft top etc.

Re: Driving off after remote start

Interesting article and shows what can be achieved when the planets align. Our government would love to do the same but the situation between them and us is like chalk and cheese. And as is being reported, the sales of EVs in the UK and other countries is stalling and it's hard to see what respectiv...

Re: Door mirrors frozen closed

Yes, that's what I do. If I remember though, I turn off the auto-fold mirrors when the car is locked during freezing spells. Another thing to watch out for is the rear hatch if powered. With my previous car it had rained before it froze and there was ice in the top shut line. There was a horrible no...

Re: advice on which XC40 to buy ...

Rowdy - if you don't go AWD you could always use Cross-Climate tyres or other options.

Re: Low Coolant Level

Yes, that's going to be the case if I consider another Volvo. I bought the current one without even a test drive but even if I'd had one it would have needed to be extensive to identify some of the things I haven't been happy about, though some of those have improved since. But as per the other thre...

Re: Driving off after remote start

I agree with you about Diesels and I remember the lies we were told about moving from evil Petrol vehicles to saintly Diesels. Remember the financial incentives we were given to scrap our petrol cars and replace them with a Diesel variant? Nothing changes and our government takes us for idiots. BEV...

Same here. Once you've had them there's no going back. We even specified my wife's Fabia with them.
