Re: Second Car
Thanks eugen but we don't really want another SUV. Percymon, will look at alternatives but nothing much springs to mind as as I said want to stick to something simple enginewise. That Yaris Cross pricing is crazy. Could go for a cheaper car but don't want to go too small again, space in the back of ...

Re: Intro
I'll have to try and record mine.
As I've mentioned before I get like a traditional starter motor sound as it restarts, so far from quiet.

Re: Second Car
Bland doesn't describe it, it's damn ugly! Back and sides are generally Ok but then they spoil it with the front. Oversize grilles and narrow lights that just don't look right, no balance to them. That on the Tiguan has put me right off it along with that tablet on the dash. The designers can't even...

Re: Bristol port delay
VW had planned to do so late last year but it didn't happen so I guess it had a knock on effect with Audi.

I'll have to get my checked out. It's very quiet when starting after being parked and after coasting and still moving but when stopped at lights etc. it makes a noise like a traditional starter motor when pulling away.

Re: Driving in France
My thoughts as well. Can't remember the last time I took spare bulbs and you'd need the necessary tools anyway! Lights are a lot more reliable nowadays and the taking of bulbs goes back many years when they were less so and easily changed. Fewer folks work on their own cars nowadays and that require...

Second Car
My wife drives the Volvo but often says it's too big and she misses her Mini! When I retired we sold it along with my Skoda Yeti and bought the first Volvo. I do have the TT as a second car though. Anyway we've been thinking about a smaller car for her again and will probably return to the VW Group ...

Welcome to the forum.
When you say the stop start is wonderfully smooth, is this when you come to a stop. Must say I'm not too impressed with mine and do everything I can to stop the engine from stopping!

Re: Anyone used a non-OEM spare wheel?
There's a thread where another member listed all the parts separately so you should be able to just get the spare wheel.
Note that you won't be able to use your existing sub-floor when you have the spare in.

Re: First xc40
It's poor really that Volvo keep changing the specs even though for some it suits. For me I'd rather have the 360 deg camera which mine has. Wouldn't be so bad if you could add things as extras but as we know they are very limited now and we can't choose what we want. We are at the whim of Volvo UK ...
