Re: Auto Handbrake

I only turn it on in traffic. Rest of the time it is off and when manoeuvring slowly I use the creep and control it with the foot brake.

Re: Paddle shift by mistake?

I didn't touch the paddles, must have activated manual by pulling back on the lever.

Re: Paddle shift by mistake?

I had the pulling away in manual happen to me yesterday which took me by surprise. I only realised when I heard the engine revving more than usual and wondering why it wasn't changing up and then saw in the display that it was in manual mode. I definitely hadn't used the paddles and can only think t...

Re: New Devon XC40 Owner

Another coming from a Yeti here. Four years in my case and loved it. Would probably have kept it a little longer but I've recently retired and a petrol made more sense. Put off any more VW Group cars by the 1.5 TSI engine debacle and restricted choice with other engines/specifications - they did me ...

Re: Hi from Warwick

You will miss the XC! I'm surprised how quickly I'm bowling along minor roads sometimes, it's so effortless and capable if not pushed too hard. The TT rides quite harshly and is quite noisy, neither of which was that noticeable after driving the Yeti and that was a nice car to drive. TT's not going ...

Re: Hi from Warwick

After about 3 months and 2k. miles this car has exceeded my expectations, well apart from the mood lighting! It is very quiet and the ride on 19" wheels is just right for me with the R-Design suspension, firm but deals with our poor roads pretty well. The fuel consumption is better than expected wit...

Re: Slight Creak/Rattle

That seems like a lot of dismantling which I don't really want. It is an annoying noise though in what is otherwise a very quiet car.

Re: Ordered the hybrid XC40

I only have the collision avoidance on my car but having set it to Late in settings after two needless sudden brakings and then it doing another one for no good reason I found that you can turn it off using the Icons.

I now turn it off every time I start the car along with the Stop/Start.

Re: Paddle shift by mistake?

I haven't tried it yet, as I have the paddles, but yes, you can go into manual whilst on the move. Pulling back on the lever will alternate between Drive and Manual. The only time I used manual with an auto (VW DSG) to any extent was when towing a trailer with a motorcycle in it in a hilly area wher...
