Re: Thanks for accepting me into the forum & No Apple CarPlay!!
Easy enough to fit yourself however will still need a dealer visit to update the software

Re: Turbo Issues T3 ?
You sure its not the daft collision prevention gubbins?
We had similar and only way to cure it was to lower sensitivity of the system and ultimately a software update from the dealer.

Re: iPhone functionality without CarPlay?
I had it in my Tiguan ad couldn't get on with it. It messed up my phone calls. Hence didn't specify it in my XC40. I plug my iPhone in (and hence charge it as well) and can then play what I want - music or usually podcasts from the screen without having to look at or touch iPhone. I am sure you can...

Re: How long to appear on insurers database?
Our issue was that the car itself (the registration plate) was not showing on the database to actually insure against - thankfully appeared for year 2 insurance!

Re: Current XC40 would you purchase again
Unlikely we'd buy another XC40 as my wife gets quickly bored with cars but maybe consider an XC60.
I would have taken another Tiguan over our XC40 but as our previous car was a Tiguan, SWMBO insisted on something different.

Re: T3 Rdesign Rattle
Could be the typical 3 cylinder engine noise. If you’re used to 4 cylinder petrol engines, than you really notice the difference... My T3 is smooth and quiet. It's probably quieter than my previous 4 cylinder Astra's were. Agree - the 3 cylinder is a refined unit. Suggest the OP may have an issue....

Re: No Diesel Anymore
Think the writing has been on the wall for diesel for a while now, whole reason we got a petrol as opposed to a diesel.
Can see in a few years that resale on a diesel will not be so good compared to an equivalent petrol or hybrid.....

Re: T5 Hybrid - some worrying faults.....
As already said I'd make a stab at software. I had a Mercedes C300h which was a diesel / electric hybrid. At first I thought it was a total shed to drive with poor gear changes and terrible changeover however after complaining to my dealer they uploaded the latest software which made it far better, ...
