Re: New map update out

"The displayed limit is a (complex) hybrid of traffic sign recognition and map data, depending on circumstances and the availability and frequency of signs. (Lack of signs meaning map data may be used). The manual seems to support this view" I can agree with this comment, I have (sometimes...

Re: What irritates you about your Volvo XC 40?

G'day ... Nothing much really. We are quite happy with our early XC 40 (purchased Dec 2018) which has really been faultless and a pleasure for my wife and I to drive. Before the plague we managed a couple of 5000+ Km interstate trips during a long hot summer which the vehicle handled without missing...

Re: AC - on or off

I understand the reasoning behind leaving the AC 'on' which is OK here in the land of OZ and almost a necessity most of the year. it also seems to be the only way we can enjoy fresh air inside our vehicle (XC40). I am disappointed however that I haven't found (discovered?) another way of enjoying fr...

Re: Did anyone here installed CarCam?

Mark 123, Your car cam installation looks very compact and neat. Presumably you are not experiencing any electrical 'noise' interference problems and the wiring must be very well concealed. Can you advise what type of car cam is installed. By the way, what is that stuff on the window glass ..... we ...

Re: Sensus screen protector

G'day from the land of OZ, I have ordered a screen protector (supplier is RUIYA?) and am wondering what are your favourite products for cleaning the existing screen? I plan to thoroughly clean the screen surface and surrounds before fitting the screen protector and, obviously, don't want to use chem...

Re: Worrying message then nothing...

G'day, We took delivery of a new T4 in early December 2018, from the first days we have had a mysterious alert message displayed which the local service department have investigated and have referred to Volvo Australia and Volvo factory technical support (in China?). Currently we are waiting for res...

Re: Any product recommendations for DIY detailer?

G'day, Good question ..... what do fellow owners use to clean wheels?? (and can someone recommend a treatment to coat the wheels so that they stay clean)?? I find that our vehicle (white) looks relatively clean however the wheels very rapidly form a dark grime coating which I assume is disk pad dust...

Re: introduction from the land of OZ

An update about this "unknown part found" problem with our XC40 T4 delivered in early December 2018 ..... This alert has been displaying continuously since my last post. At that time I mentioned that the dealer service department was waiting for factory advice before doing any component sw...

Re: Satnav & Speed Limits

Regarding XC40 speed sign recognition I have reported to Volvo dealers service department that our XC40 MY 2019 seems to have difficulty 'reading' some speed limit signs. I have noted that the vehicle regularly confuses the numbers 30, 60 and 80! For example a 60 speed limit sign is sometimes displa...

Re: introduction from the land of OZ

G'day and thanks for your response ..... Yes, I presume that all XC40 models are the same. The engine starts and the list of vehicle functions appears however it is completed and replaced quite quickly by an image of the vehicle showing doors check, seat belts check, etc, etc. You have made a good p...
