FOR SALE/OFFERS

Hello all, This may be of interest to you fellow XC40 owners;- I have just parted with my XC40 T3 R-Design of, just about 3 years old, to a Volvo Dealer down south, who gave me an excellent `cash-buy` offer that I couldn`t turn down. However they wanted the car `stock/as delivered` so I removed the ...

Re: External Trim Fault? - Check yours now!

Update to my original post on this subject...... I have now got my XC40 back from the local dealer (Toll Bar) after having 3 of the 4 cracked piano-black 'B ' post trims/covers replaced under warranty. They, kindly, allowed me to examine and photograph the obvious 'damage' images of which I have att...

Re: Catalytic Convert

Good afternoon all. Following on from Plumber64's original question, I am keen to buy an XC40 hybrid but am put off solely by the rapid increase in cat-converter thefts as reported in the national (UK) and local (Kent) press. Do you think that this is a reasonable concern or am I being too paranoid...

Re: External Trim Fault? - Check yours now!

Spotted this issue with the piano black 'B-Post' covers/trim om my 2019 R-Design XC40, as I was cleaning the car. Out of the 4 covers (2-rear of front doors and 2-front of rear doors) 3 have been affected, no idea why, but it looks, to me, like a 'stress' issue in the gloss surface coating? The dea...

Re: External Trim Fault? - Check yours now!

My money would also be on a cracking ceramic coating. That trim, being black plastic will expand/contract a lot - more than the coating can handle. You're lucky the dealer is not clued up enough to recognise it. People who will part you with your money to apply said coatings are ten-a-penny. Those ...

Re: Key Fob

I manged to scoop these two tasty trinkets to go with my White XC40 . The 'exact-fit' fob case made in abs is from a company in the states and came in Black, White and Met.red, but I now believe that other relevant colours, Met.Blue, Grey, Silver etc are also now available. Not bad at around £15.00 ...

Re: T3 Oil consumption

Happingj, my T3 has just covered 2600 miles and the oil top-up warning light came on and advising me to add 1ltr. of engine oil (about £8.40 from the dealer) To me as an Automotive engineer (retired) this is perfectly normal and as I would expect from a bedding-in, tight and high revving V V T i new...

Re: UK/Euro Spec XC40 Front Number Plate Bracket

Hi, I found that you don`t need to fit/use any form of number plate backing at all. Remove the existing plate to expose the original 6mm bolts holding the backing/mounting plate on, put the mounting plate over your new plates, mark the holes and drill thro`. You will find that std. 6mm nylon n-plate...
