Re: Automatic hazard warning flashers
No longer have the XC40 as I changed to V60CC but just popped in & spotted this thread. It could *possibly* be a Volvo fault as I've had hazards come on for no obvious reasons a couple of times in my V60. I intend to monitor it & try to keep as open mind as possible - I certainly wasn't brak...

Re: Volvo accident repair
I have never heard of an increased excess because of an uninsured third party. I think you've mis-read, OP said it was due to using a repairer not on their approved list. Too late for OP but......there's a number every Volvo owner should have stored in their phone. Insurance repairs are so lucrativ...

Re: B4/B5 'mild hybrids'; why?
P.S: As well as the ACC argument for autos, the remote start is a HUGE plus point for me. Would never be without it now.

Re: B4/B5 'mild hybrids'; why?
I have B5 in my V60 & it's smoother than a very smooth smooth thing. Early days to tell whether it helps economy much but I highly suspect it would for start/stop town drivers and/or rural drivers in the twisties in eco mode. I've kept off eco for running in but it seems to me (though I might be...

Re: Ready to buy...
It's difficult to recommend engines as it's very personal and, as you say, depends on what you're changing from. FWIW I thought the T4 was ideally suited to the car as anything more could easily overwhelm it - though, with the R Design's tighter chassis, maybe you could enjoy the full potential of t...

Re: Ready to buy...
Are you dead set on R Design? Bit of a minefield with one year old cars as you have to wonder why their owners got rid of them. I can at least tell you that my 18 month old Inscription Pro was flawless from new & was screwed together beautifully. I've nothing to gain from recommending this.........

Re: Sat Nav in Driver Display
Yes, very odd. I took delivery of my 2021 V60 on 29/9 and I have the option. Hardware is different on my car but....firmware shouldn't be that different. I would say this is a glitch & worth updating firmware. It may take an hour or more so: 1) You may need to take a firm stand with your dealer,...

Re: Servicing Plan maintenance records
Something I forgot to mention is that Volvo can tell you if the relevant updates have been carried out. My story is that I absolutely knew my update hadn't been carried out because there should have been some visible changes. Service department desperately tried to fob me off with assurances it had...

Re: Servicing Plan maintenance records
Further to the above: The dealer has now said I should have received service record sheet but it was mistakenly stapled to the invoice that goes to Volvo. I did get a pdf copy though. So some progress however, I note there is no certification anywhere of the software update which the service depart...
