Re: Car internet connection

Once you have paired a phone by bluetooth you can then enable bluetooth hotspot instead (on the phone). This should then work automatically when it reconnects in future. By far the best option if: 1) Your phone data plan has the capacity to cover your In-car use, and 2) Your phone allows Bluetooth ...

Re: Is the XC40 a noisy car?

Noise, particularly engine noise, is VERY subjective. I think my T4 is quite quiet in absolute terms but, to my ears, it's not a nice note. I love my car to bits but I won't use Dynamic mode for anything but overtakes and today, when I needed off-road mode setting up a course for a charity run, I wa...

Re: Bonsoirjourno From Shropshire :-D

Welcome Mike - I'm only a bit jealous as Shropshire is one of my favourite counties. Sorry to hear of your mobility issues but, as I'm sure you've already established, the XC40 has a good height & seats go nice & high. For tall drivers, the top of the window line could be higher (some of my taller p...

Re: Controlling your XC40 with Siri, Google or Alexa

I've just tried it on Android & Google Assistant works just fine.

I think it's generally going to be quicker to pick up phone - though might occasionally use via Google Home.

Haven't looked into the delivery thing recently, though I thought this was a U.S. only thing so far??

Re: Parking brake

Hi there, In one of the carwow review, it was stated and was demonstrated that the seat belt and parking brake are interlocked together. I unintentionally drove on without buckled up yesterday. Can anyone here confirm which setup is correct? Thank you. G Your car will not suffer the problem in the ...

Re: Pilot Assist/ACC

Thanks all for your answers. So if my understanding is correct, if I turn ACC on, Pilot Assist also turns on? I guess it’ll all become clear in about 3 weeks once it eventually arrives. No, once the ignition has been switched off, the default position on pressing the central button is ACC only - pr...

Re: Pilot Assist/ACC

Fingers crossed for you but, never mentioned in any press release or in owner's manual. Also V/S60 accessory comes with this note: This is only an upgrade of IntelliSafe Assist. The offer applies only for customers who already have IntelliSafe Assist and Sensus Navigation as retrofitted accessories ...

Re: Pilot Assist/ACC

The other advantage of using pilot assist is that if your driving in eco mode the car will base its velocity upon the terrain, for example if it knows your about to go up a hill/down a hill it will allow the speed to slow going up and then allow the speed to catch up going down. In all driving mode...

Re: Vibrations @55-80mph

Yep, good to see progress being made. Shame there was a problem in the first place as vibrations are like a bad smell - once you've tuned into it, it never fully leaves. There's an interesting new software update just been released - it's common to see engine management & transmission tweaks include...

Re: XC40 Revision

OK, understand your concern. If you like spirited driving down country lanes, downshifting into bends, paddles are a must. However, if you just need the right gear for an overtake, you maybe surprised at how non-slushy the box is, particularly in dynamic mode. Manual changing is a pull of the gearsh...
