Re: Polestar Upgrade
You could be correct as the standard software for the gearbox was not great and I think should have been improved on as a free upgrade at the first convenient dealer service. Typically on demanding moderate acceleration (not flooring it) the car would rev to 4000revs (Redline 4800) and there would b...

Polestar Upgrade
Hi, I have a 2018 UK Spec First Edition D4. Every year I have it dealer serviced and when asked if there were any issues I have always replied “None, except for the odd software glitch cured with switching off and on again, a very slow processor and a stupid and slow automatic gearbox”. Years one to...

Re: Space Saver Tyre
Thanks Oldie, yup, pretty much what the manual says and what I eluded to. However, have you an answer to the question re all-wheel drive cars? Red Herring? Complete tosh? Cut and paste from another manual not applicable to the XC-40?

Space Saver Tyre
I recently fitted my space saver spare tyre due to a puncture. I know these are a skinny get you home tyre with multiple restrictions. However, I was surprised to find it was also a much smaller diameter which would obviously cause that wheel to rotate quicker than the other wheels for a given speed...

Re: Buffering...
I have the same problem with my Spotify Car App when using my phone for data streaming via Bluetooth. It is slow and clunky and just not worth using. I also tried a Data only Sim Card which I plugged directly into the car. Again the Spotify Car App was slow and clunky. If I plug in my phone via USB ...

Re: Remote Start Cabin, Seat, Steering Wheel Heating
The heated seats and heated steering wheel are controlled from the settings - from memory its under climate (will check when next in the car). I have mine set to 1 out of 3 so when the temperature is under 10 degrees and I remote start the car my seat is warm. As it gets colder may up the level. Ho...

Remote Start Cabin, Seat, Steering Wheel Heating
So, now chillier times are here I have tried a few early morning remote starts. Although I have been pleasantly surprised to find my windscreen defrosted, I am a bit confused as to why the cabin has not been warmed up. Additionally, what do you have to do to ensure the heated seats and steering whee...

Re: The General Fuel Consumption Thread
You call 42 mpg poor consumption? My petrol T5 R-Design laughs at that by returning 26mpg (10.8l/100km) My xc40 car has traveled 3500km in the past 2 months, mainly urban trips with no real highway travel, with a mix of 95 & 98ron fuel. Fuel economy appears to be unchanged if even slightly bett...

Re: The General Fuel Consumption Thread
D4, Automatic, AWD, 19” Wheels. One year in, 13,000 miles Average 42mpg. Driven pretty moderately 80% motorway top cruising speed mostly 70mph. 18% pottering back roads and town. 2% spirited driving. Suggested reasons for this frankly poor consumption: Heavy Car, AWD, Inefficient Automatic gearbox, ...

Re: Nuisance Service Message
Will try reset as per video. As an aside, from personal experience I have found that car dealerships in general are not very good at keeping up with modern car technology. Sometimes it is because they lack information from the manufacturer. Front of house are particularly good at PODG (Purveyors of ...
