Update on the water leak. Volvo dealer did leak testing and removed a pilliars. My xc40 is in the shop with water in passenger floorboard . They did a water test and confirmed leak from water pillar. Service writer said they want to remove a pillars and they want to remove headliner. I think this is a big deal.
7 days at the local dealer. No car to drive while it is in the shop. Asking Volvo of North America about a buy back . I am thinking it may be a sun roof issue. But I am just guessing
My car has a sun roof. I did not want a sunroof because of heat gain and leak potential. But, I wanted a car with most of the other features and I needed one quick. With sun roof was what was available.
I week at the dealer, no diagnosis of the water leak. Just a statement that more water was found. Also, what do you do when you buy a new car because you need it and you have no car to drive?
This is the wife's daily driver, but when I drove the day previous , I thought I heard a slight flutter sound like a small towel was hanging out of right upper door pillar. Must say, other than this, car has been a lot of fun.

Water drops on passenger floor liner and water droplets on right front door threshold. Worried . Close observationed - no smoking...
