Re: Any former V40 owners here?

I upgraded from a V40 to an XC40. Had the V40 for 4 years. Both cars top spec. The XC40 is clearly ahead in terms of ride quality & feel. It drives like a car which is at least one category up. Less rattles as well. In terms of cabin noise, I'd say the XC40 is a bit better compared to the V40, b...

Mine is heated too - is yours?
Yes mine is heated too. Make sure you mention it on the phone just in case.

Re: Windscreen chips

Just for information, Autoglass UK can now do the calibration in house. I had a stone chip on my windscreen, which quickly spread to a long crack. Autoglass replaced the windscreen this Saturday (with a Volvo original part) and did the calibration. The whole thing took about 2:30 hours and everythin...

Re: Double-tap gearshift

I didn’t have any issues with the XC40 gearshift...got used to it within 2-3 days and have since missed the gear change only once or twice when I was not very focused. 3 point turns are fine as the gearshift is very responsive and you can instantly tap twice to select the gear. I also like how clean...

Re: Comparison with Tiguan

I have only done a test drive on the Tiguan (SEL TDI 190 like yours) and I find the XC40 much more refined on the road. Also, for some reason, the TDI 190 felt under-powered, so much that my D3 feels more powerful when it's obviously not. Must have something to do with the accelerator and/or gearbox...

Re: Eco mode as startup

I don’t think you can set up a different driver profile as default on startup. You have to select the one you want every time.

Interesting, the text appears fine on mine. Might be a different software version?

Re: Tourist - Alternative Speedometer

If you bring up the driver display menu using the button on the steering wheel, you should find the answers to your questions by scrolling down the trip submenu. I think the tourist speedometer is the last entry.

Re: Harman Kardon stereo?

Your observations are interesting. I find the volume quite adequate, in fact, I rarely have it more than halfway up. When I put it at 75% it starts hurting my ears! Have you tried playing with the surround settings and the equaliser?

Re: Pilot Assist Question

Works fine for me in very low speed traffic. That said, I prefer using ACC only when I'm not on the motorway. In city driving you normally go through junctions and areas without very well defined lanes. Pilot Assist tends to struggle in these situations, but ACC is always spot on.
