Re: Automatic gearbox very shocky

I’ve had similar experiences. Fine when I initially pull out of my parking place, however when I leave the street and put my foot down a little, sometimes it can feel a little kangaroo like! Not enough to bother me but will get it looked at when it needs serviced. I’ve an AWD T4 Auto.

Re: Genuine Volvo GAP insurance + other stuff

Hi Greg Check out this other thread. https://www.xc40forums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=988&p=8806&hilit=Gap#p8806 If your insurance policy provides new for old for the first year, there may be no need to take out GAP insurance for the first year, this reducing your cost. As for paint protection, I di...

Re: T5 AWD Fuel Economy - what are you getting?

After 1700 miles, I’ve got 30.3mpg in my T4 Auto AWD. Mostly mixed driving on the odd motorway and city roads. Start/stop turned off and mostly in Eco. I’ve learned to accept it for what it is and just enjoy the car!

Re: Cup holder size / recommendations?

I regularly put a 750ml cycling water bottle in the cup holder, similar to a Camelbak. I don’t think you’ll have any issue with their height. Seems secure enough.

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting that. As I thought, I don’t have that option. Must come as part of an option I don’t have!

Re: Spotlight opearation

I think I may have read that somewhere before too. It’s possibly meant to show up in the Car Functions screen, however I don’t have any option there.

Re: Spotlight opearation

Do you need to have the convenience pack for the fog lights to come on when cornering? I don’t have the pack, and can’t say I can see them coming on when cornering at slow speeds.

Re: Harman Kardon Settings

I’d agree that they’re not fit for purpose. I’ve had a HK system in a mini before and it worked better than this one. Quite disappointed by the HK system tbh.

Re: Confused about which xc40 to go for

I’ve had my auto AWD T4 for almost 2 months now, and covered around 900 miles. So far I’ve averaged 30.3, howeve probably more mixed driving than others. I always put it in Eco mode though and take it fairly easy on motorways. I’d hate to see the MPG if I ran it in dynamic and put my foot down!

Re: Tyres

Just back from Austria, loads of miles in wet weather, we were staying in a place halfway up a very steep mountain with hard parked snow and ice on the road, a go couple of miles up really steep twistes. The tires preformed amazingly, not once any real loss of traction. We used the offroad driving ...
